'Guilty Pleasurez' were formed in June 2009 by ex Flairz and Limehouse Lizzy guitarist Greg Hart, along with his colleagues on keyboards & vocoder, the amazing Andy Stewart, and visionary drummer Mick Neaves both from Greg's band Moritz.
The idea was simply to put together a 'classic' sounding 1970s live 'hit machine'. Wishing not to be labelled 'glam', 'disco', or 'punk', they found a niche in the 'live scene', where no one appeared to be playing all those monster quality chart hits..or as the band now call it 'music for the Jackie generation'.. ELO, 10cc, Andrew Gold, Sherbet, Wings, David Essex, etc etc.
Choosing their favourite 'Those songs from the 70s', as they put it, they soon put together a set list so mouth watering, even a Curlywurly couldn't out chew it! All that was needed to complete the band, was some like-minded quality musicians who understood the concept of what was to be the 'Guilty Pleasurez' band.
Enter one Gary Williams, a supreme bass player who was not shy to the odd 70s tune, in his own 'Boogie Wonderland' band. Perfect for the role in every way. an astounding bass player with the clothes to match!
With the core band now rocking into shape, they called upon not one but two vocalists. Firstly the incredible Sam Blue, a session singer straight from the premier league, with a CV as long as your arm, and a great musical friend of Greg. Finally, to add a touch of glamour to the stage, they also called on Abba tribute vocalist and blonde bombshell, the beautiful Janey to sing lead and backing vocals, adding a classic dimension to the 'GP Sound'.
All that was left were the outfits, and rest assured they are in place too.
