Ancient Egypt has fascinated the modern West since Napoleon?s conquest of Egypt in 1798. Empire and tourism opened the country to visitors and it has remained a popular destination for travel and study. This display is run in conjunction with the Sussex Egyptology Society and features photographs and objects collected by members.
